Q:Can I drink tea, coffee or diet sodas?
A:Limit your intake to caffeinated beverages to 2 per day because caffeine is a diuretic and can dehydrate the body. Please make sure you drink an equal amount of water.
Q:Can I drink alcohol?
A:These are additional, EMPTY calories. If you drink alcohol, assume 100 calories per serving. Reduce by equal amount in your meals and plan to reduce throughout the day. It is preferable that you do not skip a meal, unless it is the last snack.
Q:I am not hungry for all these meals, can I skip meals?
A:Most people starting this program are not used to eating frequently. They have trained their body to store fat and calories. Do your best to eat all food that is on the meal plan. Your body will begin to increase metabolism with the meal frequency and eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours will become easier.
Q:How do I prepare meals for my family?
A:Multiply the amounts in the meal plan by the NUMBER of servings for the family.
Q:The grocery list is long, do I need to buy everything?
A:Many items may be staples that you already have. If you do not like certain items, such as a vegetable or a fruit, refer to the substitutions.
Q:Can I substitute foods?
A:EVOLVE HAS A HELPFUL substitution list FOR THOSE WHO WANT OTHER OPTIONS.
Q:What about eating out?
A:This program is specific to your goals over 6 weeks. To get the greatest results it is best that you adhere to the plan as close as possible. However, this plan WILL also help you learn how to make smart, balanced choices. YOU CAN refer to the dining out guide AND substitute lunch and dinner meals if your job requires you to dine out for lunch.
