Amber Potts


Amber Potts has been an employee of  the SportsBarn for over 8 years and has worked most departments within the club. Most currently, she is teaching group fitness classes as well as serving as a Personal Trainer at the Downtown Club. She is IFTA certified and is working towards becoming ACE certified as well.

Angie Shuster


Angie Shuster, Ed.S.

Any goal worth achieving is worth the sacrifice required in achieving it. YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Angie has been in the fitness industry for almost 30 years. She has served as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, choreographer and trainer for aerobic athletes, and a manager for a group fitness department. Angie has been certified and taught group fitness in a wide variety of formats, including boot camp, cycling, yoga and Pilates, circuit and Cross Fit, and Step. She has also acquired the Zumba and Hip Hop Hustle certifications to add dance to her repertoire. Most recently, Angie has gained the Nutrition and Wellness Consultant and Personal Fitness Trainer certifications from the American Fitness Professionals of America.

When not teaching fitness, Angie serves as a psychologist for a local school system. She has served in this capacity for 23 years, thus adding a strong understanding of human behavior to the knowledge base available to assist her clients with choices involving exercise and nutrition. She enjoys the company of two “4–legged” children, one of whom is a certified service dog that reads weekly with children who have disabilities. Angie also has two grown “2-legged” children – Dr. Kate Shuster of Memphis, TN and Dave Shuster of Chattanooga, TN – and four “4-legged” grandchildren.

Anne Willett


Anne Willett, PMA®-CPT has over 26 years of experience in the fitness and health industry. She has completed two comprehensive programs of Pilates study, from Balanced Body University and Fletcher Pilates®; and, she is fully certified through Pilates Method Alliance. Anne has done intensive study with notable individuals including many second generation teachers; and she is very honored to have studied with first generation Pilates Master - Ron Fletcher. She is committed to spreading his work and serves in the role as a teacher of teachers in Fletcher Pilates®.Anne teaches classes and works one on one with clients in a private setting. Her clients range in age from 9 to 90, and include those with back, knee or hip issues, as well as dancers and athletes. Anne has a gentle yet very challenging style. She is passionate about her work and her goal is to help others achieve a sustainable way of life through the Pilates method – nourishing and prolonging one's authentic body and spirit

Beth Eberle


Beth is an ACSM Exercise Specialist, AFAA Personal Trainer and AFAA Group Fitness Instructor. Among her specialties are working with special populations, strength and conditioning and senior fitness.

Bob Merz


Bob holds an Associates degree in Natural and Applied Sciences as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science/Health and Leisure Studies. He is certified through IFTA as a Personal Trainer.

Carolyn Batten


Along being a full-time personal trainer Carolyn is the manager of Personal Fitness Training at Sportsbarn East as well as manager of the Group Fitness Program.

She holds certifications from Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in Advanced Personal Training, Personal Training and Fitness Counselor and Group Exercise Instructor. She is also certified as a Power Flex instructor, Gravity Training System certified and certified for Bosu training as well as IFTA Cycling.

Carolyn began her career in Fitness Training in 1993 and has been with Sportsbarn since 2001.

Specialties include post rehab exercise programing, weight loss, tone and sculpting through creative weight training, developing full fitness programs for people of all levels of fitness. Small group training is a favorite!

Exercise Philosophy: Our bodies are meant to be physical… when we are in good shape, we are more effective at handling life, we feel great and we get the most out of everything we do. Enjoy the journey!

Casey Wiseman


Casey has been active all his life with sports such as surfing, running and weight lifting. He is a certified Personal Trainer and Lifestyle Wellness Coach with W.I.T.S.

Donna Dowlen


Donna is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Golf Exercise Specialist., AFAA Certified Personal Trainer, and EFI Certified Gravity Trainer.

Give me your fitness goals and its my goal to help you achieve them. I specialize in individual and small groups. Utilizing equipment. fitness tools, and body weight to help improve your core, balance, muscle tone and cardiovascular system while maximizing your exercise time.

Elias Yandell


The past 3 years Elias has lived in Bryan, TX where he worked as a personal trainer for Aerofit Fitness and Aquatic Centers.

Elias graduated from UTC with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics in 2012. He is experienced in athletic training, senior fitness, general fitness, weight loss , bodybuilding, group fitness, HIIT training and corrective exercise. He is also certified in Biomechanics of Resistance Training from the Cooper Institute in Dallas, TX.

Frances Archer


Frances has been working at the Sports Barn for 10 years as a water-and-land class instructor. She is also a Personal Trainer and does swim lessons for beginners to competitors.

Janet Adams

As a lifelong fitness enthusiast and outdoor cyclist Janet loves to share her passion for fitness with personal training clients and group fitness participants.  “The more we move the better we feel and when we feel good all areas of our lives are improved.” Janet feels that exercise and healthy eating should be fun, challenging and something to be excited about as a LIFESTYLE!

Jenny Bryant


Jenny's passion for fitness began at an early age. Growing up, she enjoyed working out when possible. She also loved participating in gymnastics, being part of her junior high and high school swim team, and spending time on the golf course. This passion grew into Jenny wanting to pursue a career helping others be fit and healthy. She wants to help you achieve your fitness goals and develop a healthy lifestyle.  Jenny is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). And she has already began her path to receiving additional credentials from NASM.

Jessica Yandell


The past 3 years Jessica has lived in Bryan, TX where she worked as a personal trainer for Aerofit Fitness and Aquatic Centers.

Jessica graduated from Texas A&M in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is experienced in athletic training, senior fitness, weight loss, bodybuilding, group fitness, HIIT training and corrective exercise. She also has specialty certifications including Neuromuscular Fascia Release Techniques, Women’s Fitness Specialist and Suspension Training.

Jillian Dawson


Jillian has a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Leadership from Auburn University in Montgomery. She has been an athlete her entire life through a variety of sports. As a certified Personal Trainer for over 4 years Jillian have gained experience in training athletes, general fitness, weight loss and rehabilitative training.

Joanna Zurawek


Joanna is a certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, and Healthcare Professional.
She graduated from the School of Ballet in Warsaw, Poland, performed at the Grand Opera in Warsaw, and danced for the theater in Vienna, Austria. Her interest in the human body and its movement led her to a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy and a career in fitness. Joanna was part of the Reebok University team in Poland, educating and training new aerobics instructors and promoting the fitness movement. 

After moving to the United States, she continued to be involved in fitness and medical health. She graduated from Chattanooga State with a degree in Nursing, led fitness classes and personal training. Joanna is also a "TRX-pert," certified in personal, group and Sports Medicine TRX Suspension Training™.

Years of professional experience and education allow Joanna to create customized, safe, and effective programs for each individual client, assisting them to reach their fitness and wellness goals. Her mission is to share her passion and enable others to get the same “feel great factor” she gets from healthy living.

Kimberly Rucker


Kimberly holds a B.S. In Exercise Science. She has been a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine since 2007. As a former collegiate volleyball player, she specializes in sports specific training, functional fitness and performance training. She also has extensive experience working with senior populations.

Lyndsey Bowman


Lyndsey has been leading group fitness classes at The Sports Barn since 1996, and personal training since 2011. She graduated from UTC with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing,and she has certifications through ACE and AFAA. Lyndsey specializes in interval and functional training. Believing that you cannot keep doing the same thing and expect different results, she loves variety!

Patrick Wortman


Patrick holds a M.S. in nutrition with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from UT Knoxville. He is a Certified Personal Trainer via the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and is a Registered Dietitian licensed in the state of Tennessee.  He has 13 years experience as personal trainer and 8 years working at the Sports Barn. His areas of special interest/experience include sports related training and performance enhancement, weight-loss, and special populations or individuals with medical restrictions. His primary focus for all clients is on combining training and optimal diet to maximize their results

Scott M. Wade


Scott has a B.S. degree in Engineer Management and his certifications are, AFAA Personal Trainer, USAT Level Triathlon Coach, AFAA Mat Science, YogaFit and his specialties include triathlon training and strength and conditioning.

Sofia Bunger


Sofia has been an athlete all her life, playing soccer, ice hockey, volley ball and rowing, but mainly focusing on mountain biking and rock climbing currently. Also a lover of the arts, she has a B.S. degree in Visual Communications and an A.S. in Photography. She became certified with the American Council on Exercise after studying Exercise Science, Nutrition and Sports Psychology in Sacramento, CA., and have been certified for over 2 years.

Stuart Gladish


Certified through USA Triathlon as a multisport coach and Fitour as a personal trainer, Stuart specializes in coaching as well as general fitness and weight loss, and has done so for fifteen years.

Teresa Wade


Teresa has had a full time career in the fitness industry since 1985. She became certified w/ American Council on Exercise in 1987 and since that time has acquired a multitude of fitness certifications such as: Power Pilates, Tabata Bootcamp, Insanity,YogaFit 200 hour Yoga Certification, BarreAmped Barre Instructor, certified Jillian Michaels Body Shred, PiYo, Urban Kick, and Level 2 TriggerPoint Myofascial Compression Technique.

Ty Armour


Ty has been certified as personal trainer for over 19 years. He has served as Fitness and Wellness Director for several local facilities as well as successfully coached athletes from the youth level to the collegiate level in basketball. Ty has also played professional basketball in Germany for several years. His specialties are sports related training and performance enhancement, weight loss, strength and conditioning.
